Reflecting on music video challenge

I thoroughly enjoyed this day and it was very successful as everyone worked together and the leaders of the day really took to their position and was in control of everything.

My role of the day was dance coach. This involved a lot of previous preparation including learning the dance moves from the video and transferring them into teaching them to the group. Once everyone knew the steps we rehearsed until it was at a good enough standard and was ready for the filming day. Some of the people in the group were not too confident with the dance moves therefore I had to adjust to everyone's abilities by slowing down and making sure everyone felt comfortable as we wanted it to look as good as possible on film.
By taking this role it has made me more confident as a leader and improved my cooperation.

WWW:

  •  I felt that everyone was as comfortable as they could be with the dance and knew where they were suppose to be at the correct time in the music. It was really good that everyone helped each other whilst rehearsing and really wanted to get it in time and learn it with confidence.
  • It has improved my confidence in front of the camera as well as everyone else, so we feel more relaxed and can concentrate on what we're doing rather than being embarrassed.
  • Other people have grown more confident in themselves and it's given them a different opportunity to take part in and found that they like dancing, so maybe it will encourage more movement in our own videos.
  • I really liked it that the teachers stood back and watched just the pupils organise ourselves and get it completed without their help. This made us more individual and we didn't depend on their help so much.
EBI:
  • There was more time to film the music video as even though we couldn't get some of the shots exactly how we wanted to, we had to move on in order to get everything completed, meaning the quality of the shots maybe aren't as good as they could have been if we had a longer time period.
  • We had a steady piece of equipment to track back with during the moving shots in the corridor as one of the first was very unsteady. This is because we used an office chair with wheels which was quite unstable.
  • There was more main roles in the video as it would have been good if more people could have developed their leadership skills.
